![TIFF 09: Day 1 - Jennifer’s Body
I’m a couple days late, but better now than never. A bit distracted as I wrote these while [Rec] was playing in the background. I am not a reviewer, I did not proofread these and thus they may not make sense.
Jennifer’s Body doesn’t need much of an introduction. The film was written by Diablo Cody and stars Megan Fox as Jennifer, a girl who gets possessed by a demon and begins eating boys. Amanda Seyfried also stars as the film’s main character Needy. This is Diablo Cody’s first script after the success of Juno (shooting was supposed to start in 2007, but then there was the writer’s strike). Naturally it features her trademark witty dialogue, which unfortunately starts to take away from the scenes. A quote that several critics seem to point out is “it’s time that you MoveOn.org.” Director Karyn Kusama almost is able to successfully create a comedy-horror hybrid, but both wind up turning the film into an unmarketable two hours. That said, I did enjoy it, despite feeling it could have been better. I will be buying this on DVD. For fans of Cody, Seyfried, Fox.

Two penguins were walking across an iceberg. One penguin turned to the second penguin and said, "You look like you're wearing a tuxedo." And the second penguin said, "Maybe I am."
